Indeed, I couldn’t deny the truth in it. Nor do I deny what movies represent. Or what they portray, what they’ve managed to change as to date.

To me, and I stressed it again and again, to me and myself alone, Nur Kasih doesn’t represent those things. I do not speak for others. I do not speak for the Malays. I speak only for myself. If criticising it showed how ignorant I could be, then is that not what you’re doing? Ignoring people’s opinions is being ignorant. Being positive in every form doesn’t represent greatness as well. It just shows you’re prepared to settle for less. And if that’s the case, how are you gonna move forward exactly?

And pal, I never wrote nor did I ever said Malays sucked. I clearly wrote, “malay movies suck”. To insult Malays is to insult myself and that’s a foolish act. Just as a side note, hell, I’m proud to be Malay.

I do admit I haven’t watched a lot of Malay movies. But hey, as stated in my blog, if I ever came across a good one, I’d praise it. That was never an issue. Or do you considered that shallow enough as to having “shrunken perspective”? Ironic seeing as it came from someone who made his judgment after only reading a few sentences. He, who crumbles with an arrow.

Islam had taught and continuously teaches me in life. As such, I do not allow myself to drag it’s name and reputation in an argument as petty as this. Maybe you do, but I wouldn’t sink that low.
